Nottinghamshire has it all, with something for everyone. Do you enjoy hiking away from it all in the countryside, shopping in the city centre, eating out, meeting friends for a pint or playing and watching any kind of sport, including football, ice-skating, ice hockey, rock climbing, white-water rafting, golf, swimming, motor racing, flying, sky diving and then there’s the cinemas, theatres, concert hall, comedy clubs, international stadium tours, and wonderful seasonal events including the beach, (yes really…a beach in the city centre!) Christmas Market and Light Night. Nottinghamshire has pretty villages and market towns, castles, cathedrals, churches, art galleries, libraries and museums all waiting to be explored. And if you enjoy studying there are two world-renowned award-winning universities which welcome both home and international students.
Getting about in Nottinghamshire is easy with regular trams, buses, trains, coaches, and taxis. Plus, there are electric bikes and scooters available to hire on practically every street corner and of course you could walk, as the city centre is compact with most places within walking distance.
Thirty years ago, Nottinghamshire was just a sleepy place in the East Midlands, and over the past few decades it has grown and improved considerably. It’s now a great place to live and work as well as an interesting holiday destination.
