Coming across a waterfall is certainly a magical time during any walk in The Peak District. Whilst walking towards a waterfall the sound of the water gets louder and louder and when you reach it you can pause, watch in awe, and listen to water flowing over the rocks, cascading down to the pond or river below. Research suggests that this experience can reduce stress and anxiety, improving our mood and whilst enjoying the mighty force of nature.
The Peak District has around a dozen lovely waterfalls to find and explore, including Three Shires Head where you can go wild swimming, Kinder Downfall which is the tallest in The Peak District with its 30 metre drop and Lumsdale at Matlock with its industrial heritage.
