Nottinghamshire has a cosmopolitan and diverse population, and this is reflected in the fantastic variety of international and award-winning restaurants. Whether you fancy Indian, Chinese, French, Thai, Vietnamese, Turkish, Lebanese, Spanish, Mexican, Japanese, Italian, Greek, Jamaican, traditional English, Vegetarian, Vegan, or just a Ploughman’s Platter in a local pub, Nottinghamshire has it all. Many of the restaurants and takeaways deliver too.
Nottinghamshire has some great pubs including The Trip to Jerusalem, which is the oldest inn in England, built in 1189. In the Market Square there’s The Bell Inn, another old pub, and what city centre wouldn’t be complete without Wetherspoons for cheap drinks. I believe there are three in the city centre, plus several in the suburbs. A short drive out of Nottingham there are plenty of quaint country pubs that also serve delicious food. One that immediately springs to mind is The Reindeer at Hoveringham which is right next to the local cricket ground. Imagine how lovely it is to sit outside on a summer’s day watching a match with a refreshing pint.
